Porch Screen and Furniture

We had our porch fully screened in while we were away in Miami and also bought some outdoor furniture for it this month. It feels as though we have an additional room in our home now and we love spending time out there both during the day and at night with no mozzies! (for all you non South Africans... mozzies are mosquitos)

We were given a fabulous rocking chair from Peter & Sandy which used to fit on the landing just outside our door in our old apartment (the space was literally only big enough for the rocking chair, we had to move potplants to make room for it) and now in our new home, it sits proudly on our porch overlooking the canal along with the new outdoor furniture.

With the very hot summer months, the great part is that our entire porch is in the shade from about 8:30am onwards! And then in the cooler winter months, the sun stays on half the porch the whole day!
