Magic Kingdom is the most popular park and it's not hard to see why. The atmosphere is magical, you feel it as soon as you walk into the park. There is so much to do and see that we decided to do this park over two days!
When you enter the park and see the iconic fairytale palace in the distance, you can't help but smile. We wanted to head straight to the Dumbo ride in Fantasyland before the crowds. Apparently there are always very long waits for this ride.
Walking along Main Street we heard singing and then realised there was a little show going on right in front of us, the Main Street Trolly Show.
As soon as Jodi hears music she starts to dance. Her new thing is hold her dress at the sides like a princess, but more often than not, her dress unintentionally ends up around her waist. So apart from us asking her not to flash her panties in public places, we've made a slight adjustment to her wardrobe when she dons a frock... by adding some little shorts under her dress in case of spontaneous underwear and belly exposure!
**This reminds me of a quick story which has nothing to do with Disney - Jodi and I were at the bank a couple of weeks ago and while I was waiting in the queue, Jodi decided to start singing a made up song and dancing. The people in the bank were smiling at her and me, and then after a few minutes she started dancing around one of the rope poles and in a very loud voice said, "Look at me mom, I'm dancing around the pole!" Hahaha! I'm never going to be the one to tell her that some people do that professionally!**
On to the Dumbo ride we went. Believe it or not, there was no queue. I went on the ride with Jodi and then after we were done, JP took Jodi's hand and went again with her. No waiting! Thanks to other people's suggestions on their blogs, we headed straight to Fantasyland at the back left part of the park first to avoid queues... and by golly gosh, that we did!

As we were at the Magic Kingdom over two days, we did some of our favourite rides a second (and sometimes third) time on our second day there. The 'Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh' ride was really fun because, as with the Woody & Buzz photo shoot, there were things to keep us busy while waiting in the queue. We had about a 10 minute wait, but it didn't feel like it as there were plenty of little stations along the way for the kids to play at as the queue moved along. Our second time on the ride, we went at night. We headed to Fantasyland after the fireworks and there were only a handful of people walking around there then so we went on a bunch of rides (including the little mermaid one), with zero queues! The Walt Disney World Railroad takes you on a grand scenic circle tour of the Magic Kingdom. It stops at Main Street USA, Fantasyland and Frontierland and arrives at each station every 4-10 minutes.
JP and I had such a laugh at the photo below. We were chugging along happily on the train and Jodi loved it, then we went into a tunnel and I got this photo! hahaha
In the tunnel, Jodi was saying that it was really dark and that she couldn't see, I took a photo to light up the ride for an instant and this was Jodi! Opening her eyes really wide trying to see in the dark =) Heheh, JP and I couldn't stop chuckling at this pic!
We took the train from Fantasyland to Frontierland for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for me to get my coaster fix for the day. Then on to Adventure Land to the Swiss Family Treehouse and the Magic Carpet Ride.
While we strolled along Main Street popping in and out of souvenir shops and restaurants (Main Street Bakery - Yum) and heard singing outside. We nipped out of the shop and right outside were the Dapper Dans in action. Jodi even got a personal serenade!
I pre-booked a character lunch online. You go on to the Disney website and find the characters you want to dine with and then see which restuarants they will be at and book your time slot. It is amazing how far in advance the slots get filled up! If you want to have lunch with the princesses in the castle, you have to book up to 6 months in advance!! We decided to lunch with the Hundred-Acre Wood gang at the Crystal Palace! We sat down and over the course of 1 and a half hours had a delicious all you can eat buffet lunch and got to meet Winnie, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore! Jodi LOVED her hugs from them and getting their autographs. She played a bit of peek-a-boo with Tigger and had a blowing kisses contest with Winnie The Pooh. This is definitely something we will do again next time we go to Disney. As Jodi is now pretty Princess obsessed, we will also look into trying to book a meal with the princesses at the castle... it's SOOO popular, so we will have to know we're going to Disney 5 to 6 months before we actually go as that is how long in advance you need to book! Can you believe it?

Another top 5 moment was meeting Ariel. We waited for just under 15 minutes in the queue and boy was it worth it. Our Little Mermaid fan was wearing her Arial T-shirt especially for the occasion. Jodi was nervous at first and then ran up to sit next to her, then she told Ariel that she can sing a song and commenced with her very cute rendition of Under The Sea for Ariel! It was adorable! And Ariel was delighted by it! Wish I'd caught it on video!
