Jodi's First Birthday

I cannot believe that Jodi is one!!! It's so scary how quickly this year has gone by! Even though those first few months with Jodi were really tough, JP and I doing it on our own and all the newness and change that came along with being a parent for the first time, we managed to somehow, somewhere along the line get into the swing. It is scary to think about how much love we have for her and how we love her more and more each day! It's such a joy to be her mom!

Jodi opened her main present from us on her birthday (Friday) and then we planned her party for the day after her birthday.

We bought Jodi a cute little Rocking Vespa (as opposed to Rocking Horse) so that she could match her dad (see a photo of Jodi on her dad's Vespa back in March here). She hopped right on, although she doesn't stay on long, she asks to get on ("up") and then we rock here for about 15 seconds and then she says "dow" (down), and a couple of minutes later she wants "up" on the scooter again.

Jodi and I spent the morning with my good friend Tracy and her three little ones. When we arrived there, there were balloons hanging from the lights and a lovely rendition of Happy Birthday for Jodi! =) We love spending time with them and go hang out there pretty much every Friday morning!

After lunch it was off home for Jodi's nap time and then just a chilled evening at home the three of us. I was excited for Jodi's birthday party the next morning! I didn't let Jodi have any sweets /cake / chocolate for the first year of her life, and decided that she should try some for the first time at her party =)

We arrived at Camana Bay just before 10am to set up and gather some of the chairs and tables that are scattered there on the lawn under the shade of the palm trees. So many friends of Jodi's were able to make it to her party and even the non-toddler grown-up friends of Jodi's who love her came to join in the celebrations too!

Yay for birthday parties and cupcakes!!

JP, Jodi and I went to the beach on Saturday afternoon to carry on Jodi's birthday celebrations and Jodi had a great time in the water and on the sand... although she doesn't seem to keen on the sand just yet!
