Our New Home!

PART 2

Back in December we bought a house! Very exciting!! and we moved in on the 1st of March =) Here are some photos of our new home! We own half of the property and building.

As mentioned in my December blog entry, it's actually a duplex (two single dwellings adjacent to each other). We own one and friends of ours (Jeremy and Sheena) bought the other half and we share the land.

Both halves were originally double story 3 bedroom homes, but the previous owners closed off the doorway to the stairs in each and put a separate outside entrance to make one unit into two separate units. We have moved into the 2-bedroom apartment downstairs and we have tenants living in the upstairs (and surprisingly spacious) 1-bedroom apartment. Both units came fully furnished too!

There are a few changes that we want to make to the property, both short and long term...some trees to be moved, more parking spaces, removing bushes and screening in our porch (the mozzies are awful in summer), putting up a fence so that Jodi can't make a beeline for the water, maybe adding a dock and possibly even a swimming pool in the space behind the parking. I'll be sure to add more photos later as different projects are completed.

We are already very happy here and loving our new home in Governor's Harbour (which is up the road from my favourite beach, Governor's Beach!). We were living in the suburb of South Sound and have now moved closer to West Bay and a stones throw from 7 Mile Beach.
